KAT2A and triple-A syndrome: In addition to CVDs, patients with high abdominal aortic aneurism (AAA) were found to have high aortic expression levels of lysine-specific acetyltransferases (KAT) family of proteins such as KAT2A, KAT2B, KAT3A, KAT3B (p300/CBP), and KAT5–8, causing acetylation of H3K9, H3K18, and H3K14, effecting AAA diameter and blood urea nitrogen (Han et al. 2016).
