Re‐directing TAMs to a pro‐inflammatory, anti‐tumor phenotype is being investigated using inhibitors of pathways such as phosphoinositide‐3‐kinase‐γ (PI3K‐γ), which have reported increased expression of pro‐inflammatory cytokines such as TNF‐α, IL‐12, and MHCII and decreased expression of immunosuppressive factors such as TGF‐β, IL‐10, CCL2, and ARG1.157. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and neoplasm.
