Subsequently, through sequence screening of 1629 ALS patients, 7 heterozygous missense mutations in the ANG coding region were identified in 15 patients [14], with an overall frequency of approximately 1%, and the frequency in FALS patients (4/259, 1.5%) was greater than that in SALS patients (11/1370, 0.8%). Here, ANG is linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
