In a meta-analysis of pharmacoeconomic research on CYP2C19 genotype-guided antiplatelet medication in patients with acute coronary syndrome, researchers discovered that genotyping individuals and tailoring antiplatelet medication based on CYP2C19 variations resulted in significant reductions in severe adverse cardiovascular events and total healthcare expenditures (Fu et al., 2019).
