GRM5 and lactic acidosis: There have been two reported cases of limbic encephalitis presenting with prosopagnosia, one due to anti-adenylate kinase antibodies76 and the other due to mGluR5 antibodies.77 There has also been one report of mitochondrial encephalitis lactic acidosis and strokes-like episodes,78 one with post-herpetic encephalitis79 and one of post-traumatic prosopagnia.80 We also encountered novel associations such as patients with attention deficit disorder and patients with non-organic neurological diagnoses.
