Using the IVT-SAPAS-Seq (in vitro transcription-sequencing APA sites) [38, 39] to identify genes regulated by CPSF6-mediated APA upon viral infection, we then revealed the novel roles of CPSF6 in fine-tuning the antiviral immune response, which not only explains how the landscape of shortened 3’ UTRs is mediated upon viral infection, but also opens a new line of investigation into the treatment of viral infections and related diseases. The gene discussed is CPSF6; the disease is viral infectious disease.
