zDHHC2 functions as a mediator of AGK palmitoylation, facilitating AGK translocation to the plasma membrane and activating the PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling pathway in RCC. It also plays a crucial role in cell adhesion by palmitoylating CD9 and CD151, thereby regulating their expression and function. Furthermore, zDHHC2 palmitoylates CKAP4, which in turn influences its localization to the plasma membrane.
