LTF and infectious disease: A trial of 209 Japanese adults reported no significant differences in the prevalence or number of episodes of infectious diseases (the majority of which were summer colds) between participants given placebo, 200 mg or 600 mg of bovine lactoferrin daily for 12 weeks, but reported significant reductions in the duration of all infectious diseases (p=0.05 and 0.01 for 200 mg and 600 mg dosing, respectively), with a significant dose-response trend (p=0.01).
