The fly orthologue candidates of Usher syndrome genes MYO7A (crinkled in fly), WHRN (dyschonic in fly), USH1C (CG5921 in fly), and PCDH15 (Cad99C in fly) were localized or expressed in the actin-rich scolopale cells, consistent with our previous findings [24]. The gene discussed is USH1C; the disease is Usher syndrome.
