TYRO3 and neoplasm: Although Tyro3 mRNA has been detected in select immune (Chan et al., 2016; Imm Gen, 2016) and tumor cells (Graham et al., 2014), and in newborn oligodendrocytes (Akkermann et al., 2017), it is overwhelmingly the product of adult neurons in the brain (Prieto et al., 2007; Zhong et al., 2010; Figures 1B,C).
