Sopit Wongkham (Khon Kaen University, Thailand) spoke about how a N-acetylgalactosaminyl transferase (GLNT 5) in promoting cholangiocarcinoma caused by liver fluke, which is most commonly found in Thailand and is overexpressed during the progression of cancer via the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF-R) signalling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and cholangiocarcinoma.
