We compared the sum of reactivity to PINK1 and parkin in individual male PD vs. HC participants to reactivity in females, and we found a similar trend for an increased response towards these mitochondrial-associated proteins in males with PD (Fig. 2c, Mann-Whitney p=0.07), but not in females with PD (Fig. 2c, Mann-Whitney p=0.11). The gene discussed is PINK1; the disease is Parkinson disease.
