Figure 2C shows the expression of CXCL8 in cancer tissues and its paracancerous tissues in each NSCLC patient. The correlation between CXCL8 and patient age, sex, tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage, and tumor grade was also analyzed; however, no statistical significance was found (Supplementary Table S2). Analysis using qRT-PCR and ELISA verified that knockdown of EIF4G1 led to significantly high expression of CXCL8 (Figures 2D, E). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and cancer.
