For example, IL-10 suppresses small-intestinal inflammation and epithelial damage and prevents the infiltration of cytotoxic CD4+ intraepithelial lymphocytes.32 Spontaneous colitis in Il10−/− mice is driven by IL-22 and implicates an under-appreciated IL-10/IL-22 axis in regulating intestinal homeostasis.33 The mechanism underlying the regulation of marrow suppression by IL-10 has also been reported in previous studies.
