Zhang et al. [117] developed transferrin (Tf)-modified self-assembled PLGA nanoparticles for co-delivery of DOX and cisplatin (DDP) and found that Tf-DOX/DDP polymeric nanoparticles showed higher cytotoxicity and stronger antitumor activity than the unmodified Tf-based single-drug delivery system, which enhanced the synergistic efficacy of the two drugs in the treatment of liver cancer. Here, TF is linked to liver cancer.
