CXCL11 and Keratoconjunctivitis sicca: For example, the expression of CCL3 (macrophage inflammatory protein)-1α and CCL4/MIP-1β, and CXCL9, -10, and -11 have been found to increase in the tear film and ocular surface of patients with dry eye syndrome, especially in those with Sjögren’s syndrome, and the expression of CCL3/4 and CXCL11 at mRNA and protein levels was significantly correlated with the severity of the dry eye condition [27,39].
