xCT has been shown to play an important role in cancer as xCT function and expression have been linked to prognosis in cancers such as acute myeloid leukemia, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, prostate cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, glioma, and melanoma [170,171,172,173,174,175,176,177,178].
