NPPB and heart failure: Since increased NT-proBNP, reduced LVEF, increased RDW, AFib, PH, and dilated LV and LA are variables associated with a worse clinical status and outcome in heart failure patients according to the available medical literature, and since our results revealed correlations between increased MPV values and these variables, we could expect that an increased MPV may predict negative changes in these biological, electrocardiographic, and echocardiographic parameters, and thus predict a negative prognosis in heart failure patients.
