TARDBP and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: As Ashwagandha extracts have been shown to reduce NF-κB activation, and this signaling protein is recognized as one of the key molecular targets for the treatment of transactive response DNA binding protein 43 (TDP-43)-related proteinopathies (including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal degeneration (FTLD)), the potential of the plant and its constituents to alleviate symptoms of these disorders has been verified [101,102].
