The attenuated hypothalamic LanCL1 indicated an overwhelmed antioxidant defense during obesity progress, as we found accumulating redox imbalance in the hypothalamus, showed by levels of increased oxidized glutathione and decreased reduced glutathione, as well as a reduced ratio of NADPH and NADP (Figure 1G,H).
