Hu et al. demonstrated that the higher expression of cleaved caspase 3 correlated with clinicopathological markers, such as tumor stage, lymph-node metastasis and differentiation, as well as was predictive of poor prognosis in patients with several cancers of different origin, including gastric cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer and colorectal cancer [71].
