SERPINA1 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: Substantial evidence supports the notion that oxidative stress is implicated in chronic inflammatory conditions affecting the respiratory system, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) [5], Cystic Fibrosis (CF) [6], and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) [7,8,9], underscoring the significance of oxidative stress as a contributing factor to the pathogenesis of various respiratory inflammatory disorders.
