[75] analyzed IL-6 allele and genotype frequencies in patients with ischemic HF and in a control group and found no association between the −174G/C and +565A/G polymorphisms in the IL-6 gene and ischemic heart failure, while Zheng et al. [76] found a significant correlation between the −572G/C polymorphism of the IL-6 gene and the risk of coronary artery disease, mainly in Asian populations.
