More recently, Serna et al. applied bioinformatics analysis in a TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas) dataset, including 48 tissue samples of DLBCL patients, and observed a significant upregulation of key inflammasome components (AIM2, ALK, IRF3, 4 and 8, NFKB1 and 2, NOD2, NLRP1 and 3, CASP1 and 5, CARD8 and 9) in M0 and M1 macrophages [100]. The gene discussed is CASP1; the disease is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
