ALB and type 2 diabetes mellitus: For the composite CVD outcome, only HDL-C was associated with a statistically significant decreased risk of CVD in analysis adjusted for age, sex, smoking status, history of T2D, SBP, total cholesterol, triglycerides, BMI, glucose, eGFR, hsCRP, albumin, GGT, and ALT: HR (95% CI) of 0.82 (0.71–0.95) per 1 SD increment in HDL-C, which remained consistent on further adjustment for alcohol consumption (HR 0.84, 95% CI 0.72–0.97).
