To examine an oncogenic effect of miR-10a/b mimics on liver cancer, we performed a liver cancer screening test in HFHSD-induced diabetic mice and ND-fed healthy mice after five consecutive miR-10a/b mimic injections by using the tumor markers, des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin (DCP) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), which are widely used to detect hepatocellular carcinoma [23]. This evidence concerns the gene AFP and liver cancer.
