In our study, the analysis showed that the allele and genotype frequencies of SNPs in angiogenesis-related genes were significantly correlated with the response to sorafenib only for the rs2010963 C allele (p = 0.004) and the CC genotype (p = 0.046) of the VEGF-A gene, in accordance with the results of the retrospective multicenter study ALICE-2, in which the rs2010963 C allele and CC/CG genotype were significantly associated with a higher median overall survival of HCC patients receiving sorafenib [10]. Here, VEGFA is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
