Our work in multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), an acute inflammation that occurs 5–6 weeks after COVID-19 infection, reported numerous DN T cells that responded to SARS-CoV-2 peptide antigens, expressing after the activation of both CD4+ and CD8+ T cell markers [30]. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is COVID-19–associated multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children.
