Curcumin has demonstrated activity through multiple pathways and mechanisms of action [23,24,33], including mechanisms related to drug metabolism and elimination, such as inhibition of CYP3A4 [34,35] and P-glycoprotein (P-gp) [35,36,37]; with inflammation, such as inhibition of COX-2 [38] and inhibition of NFκB activation [39,40,41]; or by inhibiting molecules and pathways related with cancer progression, reduced apoptosis, and cell survival, such as protein kinase C [42] and c-Jun/AP1 [43]. This evidence concerns the gene CYP3A4 and cancer.
