Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) (recall Figure 7) is a pathological condition that can be characterized by microvascular thrombosis and can occur due to mutations in or the inhibition of ADAMTS13, which might lead to bigger vWF multimers, thus promoting the unregulated formation of platelet thrombi [78,79,80]. This evidence concerns the gene ADAMTS13 and deep vein thrombosis.
