GOLPH3 and breast carcinoma: Because GOLPH3 behaves differently in different cell lines, such as in the breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 [10], and because the overexpression of GOLPH3 in MDA-MB-231 affects mitochondrial function [27], we evaluated whether GFP-GOLPH3 was also found at mitochondrial fission sites in MDA-MB-231 cells.
