Immunohistochemistry, used to detect the expression of LC3 in cholesteatoma and EAC epithelium, showed positive staining for LC3A and LC3B in both cholesteatoma epithelium and EAC epithelium, with stronger staining in the cholesteatoma epithelium than in normal EAC epithelium. The gene discussed is MAP1LC3B; the disease is cholesteatoma.
