ARF6 and viral infectious disease: N-myristoylation of ADP-ribosylation factor 6 (ARF6) was reported to maintain ARF6 on cell membranes during the GTPase cycle, and ARF6 played critical roles in cellular endocytosis, epithelial barrier disruption, and intestinal inflammation20,21, all of which are important functions in host defence against eukaryotic viral infection.
