At bivariate analysis, the factors that had a statistically significant association with mortality included age, sex, distance between home address and KNRH, readmission status, ART status, CD4 + cell counts, function assessment, COVID-19, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, liver disease, anaemia, co-infections, malnutrition, diabetes mellitus, neurologic disorders and chronic lung disease (Table 2). Here, CD4 is linked to chronic lung disease.
