DN B cells (CXCR5-) are extensively expanded in antibody-mediated autoimmune diseases such as SLE, where a worse disease course is correlated with an inflated population of DN B cells (CXCR5-), which are thought to represent plasmablasts precursors (Jenks et al., 2018; Szelinski et al., 2022). The gene discussed is CXCR5; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
