To hone in on lncRNAs that may be most clinically relevant, we computationally mined the Cancer Genome Atlas - Skin Cutaneous Melanoma (TCGA-SKCM) dataset and found that 24 of these 81 lncRNAs were also expressed in more than 90% of patients’ melanomas harboring an NRAS-mutation (Fig. 1d; FPKM-values > 0.2). This evidence concerns the gene NRAS and melanoma.
