Coant N et al. demonstrated that AKT signaling accelerates the progression of the cell cycle and promotes cell proliferation in CRC.14 It was further confirmed that activation of the AKT signaling pathway in CRC led to increased CCND1 protein expression.15 Mutations in upstream regulators, such as ITGB4 and LAMB3, are often responsible for abnormal activation of AKT signaling pathways.
