These innovative data demonstrated that this fucoidan F3 may (1) ameliorate hypercholesterolemia by elevating LXR/ABC signaling pathways and suppressing the gene expression of SREBP-2 and (2) improve hypertriglyceridemia by activating PPARα without modulating the gene expression of PPARγ and decreasing the gene expression of SREBP-1c. Here, SREBF1 is linked to familial hypercholesterolemia.
