VEGFA and neoplasm: Bevacizumab exerts anti-tumor effects by binding to VEGF-A, preventing VEGF-A from interacting with VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2, blocking the signaling pathway of angiogenesis, and inhibiting the formation of tumor neovasculature, thus inhibiting the growth of tumor cells (Gerber and Ferrara, 2005) (Figure 7).
