In 2015, Moffitt et al. (2015) proposed that pancreatic cancer gene expression diverged into two subtypes, classical and basal-like; later, a degree of GATA6 expression was reported to distinguish these subtypes (de Andrés et al., 2023; O'Kane et al., 2020). The gene discussed is GATA6; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
