Current mutation analysis did not identify inactivating mutations on the DIRAS1 coding region.9 Heterozygous deletion of the DIRAS1 gene is present in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues.10 The present study was not equipped to detect mutations in DIRAS1 occurring in cervical cancer tissues and mainly focused on epigenetic regulation. Here, DIRAS1 is linked to esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
