Zdżalik-Bielecka et al., 2021 proposed that activation of Axl by GAS6 prompted actin remodeling, which further promoted micropinocytosis and contributed to cancer-cell invasion. Sun et al., 2003 investigated Gas6 and its receptors Axl in normal, eutopic, and ectopic endometria and revealed the expression of Gas6 and Axl mRNA in all the samples. However, Gas6 and Axl mRNA levels were markedly elevated in the ectopic endometria than the normal endometria (p < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene AXL and cancer.
