The aim of the study was to test M. oleifera as a potential antidiabetic agent and its effect on immune tolerance. A model of alloxan-induced diabetes in mice was used. Mice treated for diabetes were given 100 mg/kg of M. oleifera extract orally. Glucose and insulin levels were tested to calculate insulin resistance. In addition, total antioxidant capacity (TAC) was also determined. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine. Relative concentrations of CD44 proteins were also measured by flow cytometry. CD69 and IFN-γ. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is Insulin resistance.
