To check whether adrenarche-accompanied rise of sex steroid precursors like DHEA could prevent NAFLD by converting into active estrogens in liver of young female rats, we administrated young female rats with aromatase inhibitor, formestane from 2 to 4 wk of age, which totally covered the whole adrenarche phase. This evidence concerns the gene CYP19A1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
