In addition to the finding that TFEB plays a pathogenic role in several cancers [14, 43, 84], TFEB plays a protective role in most diseases, such as LSDs [13, 85], neurodegenerative diseases [6, 86, 87], ischemic injury [88, 89], metabolic disorders [15, 90], and inflammation [17–19]. This evidence concerns the gene TFEB and metabolic disease.
