All three tafenoquine cases were G6PD normal, with acute haemolytic anaemia not considered drug related: one was associated with trauma from an accident exacerbated by malaria, one had malaria-associated haemolysis plus tafenoquine-related methaemoglobinaemia (16·5% methaemoglobin), and one had autoimmune haemolytic anaemia (positive Coombs test). The gene discussed is G6PD; the disease is autoimmune hemolytic anemia.
