Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with abnormal immune function associated with disorders in T-cell regulation.[29] Patients with psoriasis have much higher levels of cytokines that mediate immunity in patients with psoriasis, including tumor necrosis factor-α,[30] interleukin-1,[31] and interleukin-6,[32] which mediate innate immunity. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is psoriasis.
