,10 In the FLAURA trial, OSI was found to have a significant prolongation of progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) and reduced the incidence of central nervous system (CNS) metastasis, compared with the first-generation EGFR TKIs erlotinib and gefitinib, as the initial therapy for treatment-naive patients with advanced NSCLC harboring EGFR mutations.11, 12, 13 Although OSI was found to have a marked therapeutic effect, almost all patients treated with OSI experience disease progression after approximately 15 to 20 months. Here, EGFR is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
