Using the murine malaria challenge model, derived from Plasmodium berghei expressing CSP from the human parasite Plasmodium falciparum, we demonstrated that both formulations of QS-21 primed the same 100% protective immune response to that produced by the vaccine formulated with reference adjuvant (Figure 6H) and that were superior to control liposome-formulated MPLA alone.
