Mac‐1‐deficient mice showed high mortality due to CLP‐induced sepsis [17], whereas immunoneutralization of Mac‐1 in wild‐type (WT) mice alleviated CLP‐induced lung edema [18] and anti‐Mac‐1 designed ankyrin repeat protein (DARP) ameliorated ALI [19], suggesting that Mac‐1 promotes lung injury induced by pathogen‐associated molecular patterns (PAMPs). This evidence concerns the gene ITGB2 and Sepsis.
